Mrs. Esther H. Durnin of Princeton Junction N. J., died Saturday, April 3, 1971 in the Lawrenceville, N. J. nursing home, Lawrenceville, N. J. after a long illness.
Born at Cuba, N. Y., January 30, 1895, she was the daughter of Loren and Grace Gallop Hunt. She was graduated from Cuba High School and received nurses training at Clifton Springs School of Nursing. On April 12, 1918 she was married to Henry Durnin, a World War I veteran, who died in 1922
Retiring after 35 years as a nurse in the Oneida public schools, Mrs. Durnin made her home in Dunedin, Florida until 1969 when she moved to Princeton Junction to be with her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Quigg who survives.
She also leaves a granddaughter, Deborah Quigg; three sisters, Miss Ruth E. Hunt of Jamestown, Mrs. Jesse (Nellie) Bohn of Geneva, Mrs. M. Ellis (Marie) Drake of Skaneateles; one brother, Edwin L. Hunt of Cuba and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Durnin attended All Saints Chapel in Princeton. A memorial service will be conducted by the Rev. Vincent Strohsahl at Christ Episcopal Church in Cuba, Thursday, April 8, 1971 at two o'clock.
