Death of Chas. A. Diffin.

Chas. A. Diffin, a well-known resident of Stanards, died at the home of his son, John M. Diffin, at Stanards on Sunday morning.  Mr. Diffin was nearly sixty-four years of age.  He was born at Jordan, NY, May 19, 1841.  He was married July 12, 1863, to Alfreda Preston who survives him together with one daughter, Mrs. C. W. Rogers of Andover, NY; two sisters, Mrs. Melissa Corwin of Austin, PA; and Mrs. B.C. Cole of Stanards; and two brothers, W.H. Diffin of Andover and John H. Diffin of Stanards.  Mr. Diffin united with the Baptist church of Andover when quite young and has always led an upright Christian life.  He has lived at Stanards for the past ten years.

The funeral services were held from the M.E. church in Stanards at 11 o’clock on Wednesday morning, the Rev. J.M. Leach officiating, and the remains brought to Andover for burial.
