Victor Hammond dies
July 15, 1943

Victor Hammond, 75, was gored by a bull on his farm at West Clarksville Tuesday morning and died an hour later. The bull had been sold and the purchaser was coming after the animal when the fatality occurred.

Mr. Hammond formerly lived in Ohio where he was engaged in the oil business. He was also a former resident of Bolivar, and at one time taught school at Kossuth.

He was born at Shamburg, Pa, October 25, 1868. Besides his widow, he leaves on daughter, Zey; three sisters, Mrs. John J. Jones and Mrs. Charles Trenkle, Cuba; Mrs. Flora Tobin, Long Beach Calif., and one brother Dr. Hal Hammond, Franklinville.

Funeral services will be held at the Trenkle home, North Cuba Road, this afternoon. The Rev. Milton Shreckengost, pastor of the West Clarksville Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Dell Cemetery, Cuba.
