Fillmore

Arthur R. Wiles of West Main St died Thursday Feb 24, 1972 at his home.

Born in Fillmore Nov 19, 1880, he was a son of Dr. Linus and Mary Wiles.  He was married to the former Olive Curtis, who predeceased him as did his second wife, the former Emma Griggs.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Elon C. Wiles and Maurice Wiles, both of Fillmore; a daughter Mrs. Arthur (Verena) France of Dunkirk; a step son Manfred Griggs of Hume; two step daughters Mrs. Arthur (Jean) Burr of Caneadea and Mrs. Irene Ross of Arcade; and six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Mr. Wiles had been a life time resident of Fillmore where he was an undertaker and a furniture dealer until his retirement.

He was a life member of the Fillmore Wesleyan Church.

Friends are being received at the Kopler Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore, from 7 – 9 pm today and Saturday form 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm.  Funeral and committal services will be conducted Sunday Feb 27, 1972 at the Fillmore Wesleyan  Church at 2 pm by the Rev R. T. Holton, pastor.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in the Town of Hume.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fillmore Wesleyan Church.
