(From the Rushford Spectator Thursday April 25, 1907)

A farm house near Allentown belonging to Riley Allen and occupied by Arthur Hazzard was destroyed by fire Saturday  afternoon. The family were in Wellsville at the time, and when they reached home found the house and contents entirely destroyed, nothing was saved. The fire is believed to be started from a gas stove. There was no insurance and loss will be heavy for Mr. Hazzard. Mr. Hazzard and his family are now staying with his father at Allentown.
Mrs. Hazzard was the former Myrtle Burgess, a daughter of the late Samuel Burgess (and the former Sarah Lewis) and has many friends will regret to learn of the loss of her home. sister (Mary) lives with her.
