Place, Truman
Truman C. Place, a native of Rensselaer county, was born in 1811, and after living some time in Wisconsin he came to Alfred in 1845. He married Miss Susan Maxon in 1853. Their son, Benjamin F. Place, served two years in the army, in Company H. 1st NY Dragoons, and was killed in 1864. Mr. & Mrs. Place belong to the Seventh-Day Baptist Church.
