Death of Guy Coats

We regret to report the passing of Guy Coats, one of our faithfuol workers of the Empire Gas & Fuel Cp/. Ltd., who worked in the Independence Field.  His death occurred on May 6th at the Jones Memorial Hospital following an illness of several months.  He had worked for the company since Sept. 5, 1940.

Born in Willing, Dec. 30, 1893, he resided in this locality most of his life with the exception of 3 years from 1937 to 1940, when he lived in Custer City, Pa.

He is survived by his widow, mother and eight children.  Burial was in the Rural Cemetery in Whitesville on May 9th.
