Anna “Jean” Clark passed away peacefully on her 88th birthday (May 22, 2013) in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.   She was born in Penn Yan on May 22, 1925, the daughter of George and Mary Allen Fitzpatrick.   On Jan. 10, 1947, in Belmont, she was married to James V. Clark. Jim and Jean were married 51 years prior to his death in 1998.   She was a graduate of the Whitesville Central School and also attended business school in Hornell. As a young woman, Jean took a train daily from Whitesville to Hornell, where she worked in the office of the Erie Railroad.   She later was the first employee of the Allegany County Veterans Service Agency in Belmont, which was created to benefit veterans of World War II. Jean then worked as a teller for Citizens National Bank in Whitesville from 1956 to 1978.   Most of all, Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.   Jean is survived by a son-in-law, Melvin E. Stebbins of Whitesville; two granddaughters, Wendy J. Stebbins of Whitesville, and Tricia A. Stebbins of Wellsville; two great-grandsons, Rally and Dutch McCartney of Whitesville; a brother, James (Sandra) Fitzpatrick of Whitesville; and a sister, Ruth Solis of Ohio.   She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and a daughter, Patricia C. Stebbins.   Jean lived nearly all of her 88 years in Whitesville near her family. Jim and Jean were the heart of their family and gave them the gift of a lifetime of special memories.   Private services were held in the Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home in Wellsville, with Rev. David Munro officiating. Burial was in the Rural Cemetery in Whitesville.   Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
