Ralph M. Hills Dies Suddenly at Home; was Lifelong Resident

Ralph M. Hills of Trapping Brook Road, lifelong resident of Wellsville, died very suddenly at his home about Noon yesterday.

Mr. Hills was an employee of the Sinclair Refining Company, Wellsville, up to the time of his death.  He had worked there for 20 years.  He was also the operator of a saw mill.

Born here Oct. 22, 1907, he was the son of the late Eugene Hills and Cora Burdin Hills.  On July 23, 1930 he married to the former Margaret Smith, who survives, with his mother.

Also surviving are a son and daughter, Ralph E. Hills, Jr. of Wellsville and Mrs. Paul Merry of Scio and Mrs. Richard Kellogg of Wellsville, a daughter by a previous marriage.

Two sisters survive him.  Mrs. Glen H. Howe of Wellsville and Mrs. J. Earl Howe of Olean as well as 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Hills was also a member of Wellsville Grange 1587, the National Grange and Pomona Grange.  He was an overseer of the Grange.

Mr. Hills was also a member of the Wellsville Christian Temple.

Services will be held Saturday at 2 pm at the Ember Funeral Home, Rev. O. B. Hill of the Christian Temple presiding.

Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Friends may call that the funeral home between 2 and 4 and 7 and 9 pm.
