Obituary - Louise Witter Gaus

Wellsville-- Louise Witter Gaus, 96, of 43 Chestnut St., died Wednesday (Feb 3, 1999) at the Highland Healthcare Center, following a brief illness.

Born July 27, 1902, in the Town of Willing, she was the daughter of Fred C. and Hallie Rogers Shear.

On Sep. 17, 1938, in the Town of Allen, she married to Clarence F. Gaus.  He preceded her in death on April 28, 1992.

Mrs. Gaus was a graduate of Wellsville High School.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wellsville.

Survivors include a brother, Norman (Marjorie) Shear of Wellsville; two sisters, Marlee (John) Babcock of Wilmington, Del., and Margaret (John) Hollod of Wellsville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Abbott and Helene Shear; and three brothers, Donald, Winston and Bayard.

The Mulholland-Crowell Funeral Home, Wellsville, is in charge of arrangements.  There will be no prior visitation.

Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. William Willson, officiating.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Meals on Wheels, Office for the Aging, 17 Court Street, Belmont, N.Y., 14813
