JAMES L. GLOVER
Private funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock for James L. Glover, 65, for many years a resident of Burns. Mr. Glover died at his home there Saturday afternoon after an illness of several years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. M. Karr and internment was in the Arkport cemetery.
Mr. Glover is survived by his widow, Ellen E. Glover; eight daughters: Mrs. Frank Michaels of Castile, Mrs. Theodore Wallace of Cameron, Mrs. M. Simpson of Wellsville, Mrs. Carl Schneider of Friendship, Marion, Elizabeth, Neva and Winifred at home; eight sons: Roy of Arkport, Glenn of Burns, Otto of Burns and Howard, James, Jr., Floyd, Harry and Harding at home; two brothers: Adelbert of Elmira and Robert of Canaseraga.

CANASERAGA----Mrs. Elizabeth Glover of Canaseraga, widow of James Glover, died Friday afternoon at Cuba Hospital. She was 80 years old and a resident of the Canaseraga-Arkport area most of her life.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Lillian Schneider of Friendship, Mrs. Gladys Simpson of Forestville, Mrs. Marian Pierce of Avon, Mrs. Betty Hendee of Endicott, Mrs. Neva Keough of Arkport, and Mrs. Winifred Coombs of Canaseraga; seven sons, Glenn and Harding, both of Canaseraga, Otto of Elba, Howard and Floyd, both of York, James of Rochester and Harry of Mesa, Arizona; one step-daughter, Mrs. Frances Michael of Castile; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Mann Funeral Home in Canaseraga. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

A native of South Dansville, Theodore V. Wallace of Cameron RD 1 died Saturday (Aug. 28, 1976) in his home. He was 81.
He had lived in Canisteo for more than 50 years and was a farmer. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in Europe in the 102nd Field Artillery 26th Army division.
Survivors include a daughter, Miss Evangeline E. Wallace; and a son, Donald V., both at home.

CANISTEO: Donald V. Wallace, 69, of 4503 Oak Hill Road, Town of Canisteo, died Wednesday (Jan 28, 1998) at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital. Born in North Hornell, May 19, 1928, a son of Theodore and Clara Glover Wallace, he had resided his entire life in Canisteo, where he operated a farm on Oak Hill. He was a member of he Buck Settlement
Baptist Church.
Surviving are several cousins including: James (Erma) White of Franklinville, Judy Matteson of Addison, Eddie (Carol) Williams of Horseheads, Jerry Wallace of Wellsville, Donna Sortore of Belfast, Ruth Wallace of Arizona, David (Inez) Albee of Bath and Robert (Daisy) Wallace of Ithaca; his close friends, Todd and Wendy Jenner of Canisteo.
The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday to receive friends at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce St., Canisteo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Buck Settlement Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

A former Dalton resident, Ronald R. Colton, 63, of Poplar Ridge, N.Y., died Tuesday (Apr. 7, 1987) in Crouse Irving Hospital at Syracuse. He was born in Dalton, a son of LeRoy and Eva Scofield Colton. He resided in Dalton until moving to Poplar Ridge 24 years ago. He was employed for 26 years by Eastern A.I. Co-operative, retiring in 1985.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Michael Colton of Poplar Ridge; three sons, Ronald of Aurora, Larry of Adams and Rand of Poplar Ridge; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Masters of Dalton; six grand-children.
A service was conducted Saturday in the Shakelton Funeral Home in Aurora with the Rev. Thomas Davis officiating. Burial was in Ridgeway Cemetery, Town of Venice. Memorial contributions may be made to the Instand Aid Ambulance Fund

ARKPORT---Glenn N. Glover, 89, died Thursday (Nov. 29, 1990) at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Born May 12, 1901, in the Town of Burns, he was a son of James and Elizabeth Glover. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel, in 1979, and a son, Ralph, in 1988. During the 1940’s he was employed by the Town of Burns Highway Department, and from 1960 through the 1970s as a worker for the Village of Arkport. He also served as caretaker of the Arkport Cemetery for about 20 years. He was a member of the Arkport Hose Company and a life member of the Canaseraga Fire Department. He was past president of the Allegany County Firemen’s Association and a member of the Canaseraga Grange.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Young of Arkport and Jean Gaiss of Dansville; two sons, Gerald of Loon Lake and Bruce of Arkport; three brothers, Harry of Mesa, Arizona, James of Rochester, and Harding of Arkport; five sisters, Lillian Schneider of Friendship, Marian Pierce of Avon, Betty Hendee of Binghamton, Neva Keough of Rochester, and Winifred Coombs of Canaseraga; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A last rite was conducted Monday in Canaseraga for Mrs. Hazel Glover, 77, of Arkport who died Friday (Nov. 9, 1979). She was the mother of Mrs. Jean Gaiss of Dansville. Formerly of Canaseraga, she had lived in Arkport since 1972. She was
past president of Fawcett American Legion Post Auxiliary 1582 and was a member of the 8-40 of Allegany County and the Arkport Senior Citizens. She was a life member of the Canaseraga Grange.
Surviving are her husband, Glenn; another daughter, Mrs. Doris Young of Arkport RD; three sons, Ralph and Bruce both of Arkport and Gerald of Canaseraga; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Perry of Arkport and Mrs. Myrtle Sanford and Mrs. Arlene Woolever both of Elmira Heights; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARKPORT---Doris E. Young, 78, of 580 Tilden Hill Road, died Thursday (March 15, 2001) at the home of her brother in Arkport. Born in Arkport, Feb 20, 1923, a daughter of Glenn and Hazel Irene (Flint) Glover, she had been a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Arkport Central School, and had been employed as an inspector at Stern & Stern Textiles in Hornell prior to her retirement in 1976.
She was predeceased by one brother, Ralph Glover, and her husband, Clarence “John” Young in 1997. Surviving are her sister, Jean (Bob) Gaiss of Dansville; two brothers, Bruce (Audrey) Glover of Arkport and Gerald (Martha) Glover of Loon Lake; her sister-in-law, Yoshie Glover of Arkport; her brother-in-law, Charles Young of Arkport; several nieces and nephews
and great-nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday at Arkport Cemetery. Rev. Dudley Jenkins will officiate. ARKPORT---Ralph Glover, 62, of Oak Hill Road, died Saturday (Sept. 24, 1988) at his home. Born Feb. 15, 1926 in the Town of Burns, he was a son of Glenn and Hazel Glover. An Army veteran, he was employed by the Village of Arkport. He was a member of the Arkport American Legion and the Arkport fire department.

GERALD G. GLOVER
LOON LAKE - Gerald G. “Gerry” Glover, 74, of 2 East Lake Road, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday (Jan. 15, 2008), after a long illness. Gerry was born Sept. 24, 1933 in the Town of Burns, the son of Glenn and Hazel (Flint) Glover. He spent most of his life in and around the town of Canaseraga. In 1973, Gerry married his faithful companion, Martha Birchard Rowley. Together they have celebrated over 34 years of marriage. In 1989, they built a home together on Loon Lake and that is where they have resided ever since. Gerry was employed by the Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation for over 43 years prior to retiring in 1991. He was a member of the NRA, the NYS Sheriff's Association, and the International Association of
Machinists and Aerospace workers. Gerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, his home on the lake, building things with wood, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Gerry was predeceased in life by his parents, Glenn and Hazel Glover; his sister, Doris Young; brother, Ralph Glover; and his step-daughter, Leslie James. He is survived by his wife, Martha Glover of Loon Lake; his children, Patricia (Elton) Shumway of Olean, Donald (Kathryn) Glover of Cuba, and Duane Glover of Wayland; his step-children, Kathie (Wally) Berry, David Rowley, and Andrew (Mary Halbert) Rowley, all of Canaseraga, Cindy (Larry Streder) Rowley of Greece, Wilson Rowley of Aberdeen, Md., and Jason (Stacy) Birchard of Erin, Tenn.; his son-in-law, Jamie James of Wayland; his sister, Jean (Bob) Gaiss of Dansville; his brother, Bruce (Audrey) Glover of Arkport; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with

LARRY J. GLOVER
ARKPORT - Larry J. Glover, 70, of 8643 State Route 36, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening (Oct. 4, 2007) at the Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pa., after becoming ill while visiting in Carlisle, Pa. Born in Hornell, on June 5, 1937, he was a son of the late Roy and Wanda Howe Glover. On Oct. 18, 1958, he was married at Bishopville United Methodist Church to the former Nancy Amidon, who survives. A resident of Arkport most his life, Larry served with the U.S.
Marine Corps from 1956 to his honorable discharge in 1958 as a Lance Corporal. He served in South Carolina and ship board duty on the Mediteranean. He was employed in area construction and was also employed by Shay's Trucking Service in Dansville from 1960-90. After his retirement, he was employed as a carpenter with Doug Gamo Construction in Arkport. A loving husband, and a great father and grandfather, he was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help those in need. He will always be remembered for the smile on his face. Larry was a member of the Arkport American Legion Memorial Post No. 1248 and the Hornell Elks Lodge No. 364.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Nancy; his son, Jay (Catherine) Glover, of Ft. Defiance, Va.; his two grandsons, John and Michael Glover, also of Ft. LILLIAN L. SCHNEIDER
FRIENDSHIP---Lillian L. Schneider, 88, of 11 ½ East Water St. died Tuesday (Oct. 31, 2000) after a lengthy illness. Born March 22, 1912 in the Town of Burns, she was the daughter of James and Elizabeth Wright Glover. On Dec. 5, 1932 in Swain, she married Carl H. Schneider who died March 16, 1993. Mrs. Schneider had resided most of her life in the Friendship area. She attended the Canaseraga school district and moved to the Friendship area in 1933. For several years she was employed at the Friendship Silk Mill and later was a clerk at both The Friendship Pharmacy and Schneider’s Hardware in Friendship. She attended the Nile Community Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Duncan Chapter #195 of Friendship; the Friendship Bridge Club; the Friendship Travelers Club and a member and past secretary of the Wise Old Owls Camping Club of Western New York. She enjoyed camping and playing cards.
Surviving are three sons, Carl E. (Judy) of Friendship, LaVerne G. (Diane) Schneider of Rochester and James F. (Marian) Schneider of Friendship; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Harry (Pat) Glover of Mesa, Ariz.; three sisters, Elizabeth Hendee of Binghamton, Winifred Coombs of Canaseraga and Marian Pierce of Avon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six brothers, Harding Glover, Otto Glover, Floyd Glover, Glenn Glover, James Glover and Howard Glover; and three sisters, Neva Keough, Vida Glover and Gladys Simpson.
Friends may call Saturday, Nov. 4 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Friendship where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. with Rev Ralph and Elizabeth Groskoph of Allegany Co. Episcopal ministries officiating. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery in Arkport. Memorials may be made to the Friendship Little League Scholarship fund, c/0 Kari Mancuso, RD #2 Pigtail Rd., Friendship, N.Y. 14739 or the Alzheimer’s Association of WNY, 1284 French Rd., Depew, N.Y. 14043-4882. AVON—James T. Pierce, 80, of West Main Street, died Friday (March 16, 1990) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born March 3, 1910, in Grove, son of Eugene and Grace Thomas Pierce, he was married to the former Marian Glover, who survives. He retired in 1975 after working 45 years for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad. An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Avon XYZ Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Dennis of Avon and David of Rochester; one daughter, Patricia Dhillon of Mendon; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Dresser of Florida; nieces and nephews.
A service was today at the Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 315 Genesee St., Avon, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Canaseraga Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Avon Rotary-Lions Ambulance Service.

He was a retired Building Contractor, a former Battallion Chief of Chili Fire Department Co. #3, a WWII Veteran of the European Theatre and was a member of VFW Post #412.

ARKPORT—Neva Keough, 76, formerly of Arkport, died Wednesday (Feb. 21, 1996). She was born Nov. 2, 1919 in the Town of Burns, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Wright Glover.
She is survived by one son, Howard Keough of Arkport; two daughters, Gail Arno of Shortsville and Susan Hoffman of Aurora, Mo.; six grandchildren; three brothers, James Glover of Rochester, Harry Glover of Mesa, Ariz., and Harding Glover of Arkport; four sisters, Lillian Schneider of Friendship, Marian Pierce of Pittsford, Winifred Coombs of Canaseraga, and Betty Hendee of Binghamton; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. at the Mann’s Funeral Home in Canaseraga, where a funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Canaseraga Cemetery.

Arkport, N.Y. - Howard E. Keough, 49, of 8563 Brown Rd., passed away Wednesday (March 5, 2008) at St. James Mercy Hospital. Born in North Hornell, Jan. 8, 1959, the son of Robert Lewis Keough and Neva Christine Glover, he had been a lifelong area resident, and graduated from Arkport Central School. Howard served in the U.S. Army and the Army reserves. He had attended the Valley Wesleyan Church of Canaseraga, was an outdoorsman, a reader, enjoyed fixing things, camping and fishing with his boys, and being a loyal family man.
He is survived by his wife, Kelley Jordan Keough, whom he married on Dec. 28, 1992; two sons, Ryan Keough and Brandon Keough, at home; two sisters, Gail (Alan) Arno of Shortsville and Susan (Wayne) Hoffman of Bath; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will be present from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the Valley Wesleyan Church of Canaseraga, where funeral services will take place at 1 p.m., with Pastor Herb Shaffer officiating. HARDING D. GLOVER
ARKPORT---Harding D. Glover, 78, of 73 Main Street died Sunday (July 16, 2000) in Rochester, NY. Born in Burns, June 29, 1922 a son of James L. and Elizabeth Wright Glover, Harding had lived most of his life in the Canaseraga area. He was employed as a carpenter and cabinet maker, and had served in the US Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a former and past Commander of the Canaseraga American Legion.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Vida Glover, Gladys Simpson, and Neva Keough; five brothers: Howard, Floyd, Otto, Roy and Glenn Glover. Surviving are his wife, Regis Broughton Glover to whom he had been married 57 years; two daughters, Cynthia (Jon) Bentley of Angelica; Robin Underwood of Akron; five sons, Harding “Bud” (Pat) Glover of Delaware, Richard (Judy) Glover of Canaseraga; Jack Glover of Angelica; David (Patti) Glover of Delaware; Timothy (Kim) Glover of Maine; four sisters, Lillian Schneider of Friendship; Betty Hendee of Binghamton; Marian Pierce of Avon; Winifred Coombs of Canaseraga; two brothers, Harry Glover of Arizona; James Glover of Rochester; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
At Harding’s request there will be no public calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo Street, Hornell, at the convenience of the family. The Rev. William Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Arkport Cemetery.

HARDING NATHAN “BUD” GLOVER
GEORGETOWN, Del.—Harding Nathan “Bud” Glover, 57, of Georgetown, Del., died Saturday (July 24, 2004) in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Del. Born in Cuba, NY, he was the son of Regis (Broughton) Glover of Arkport and the late Harding Delbert Glover. He was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, serving at the Dover Air Force Base. He retired due to service related disability when stationed at Altus Air Force Base in Oklahoma in 1983. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed building and painting street rods and old cars. He loved woodworking and liked to collect anything to do with bald eagles.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Glover, in 2002. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Hilda “Pat” Glover; three sons, Larry Glover of Canaseraga, Robert Taylor of Mansfield, Texas, and Mark Taylor of Colleyville, Texas; a daughter Sherri Glover of Canaseraga; two sisters, Cindy Bentley of Angelica and Robin Tessier of Belmont; four brothers, Jack Glover of Arkport, David Glover of Greenwood, Del, Richard Glover of Canaseraga, and Tim Glover of Boliver; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, Del.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, 600 N. Dupont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.

GARY R. GLOVER
LAUREL, Del.---Gary R. Glover, of 9793 Yew Drive, passed away Monday (May 13, 2002) at home following a short illness.
He was born May 17, 1968 in Charleston, S.C., the son of Harding “Bud” and Bettie Sleight Glover. In 1993 he married Shelly
Lehman, who survives. Mr. Glover was an Outbound Supervisor for Overnite Transportation in Federalsburg, Md. for seven years. He was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford, Del. Mr. Glover was an avid NASCAR fan and a lifelong fan of Bill Elliott. He loved automobiles and enjoyed music.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his father, Harding “Bud” Glover of Georgetown, Del; his mother, Bettie Sleight Glover of
Canaseraga; two daughters, Dallas DeAnn and Devan DeAnn Glover both at home; a brother, Larry Glover of Canaseraga; a sister, Sherri Glover of Canaseraga; maternal grandmother Violet Sleight of Swain; paternal grandmother, Regis Glover of Arkport; and several wonderful friends and family members.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell, on Saturday from 11a.m. – 1 p.m., at which time funeral services will be held in the Canaseraga Cemetery, Canaseraga.
