BELMONT GRADUATES.

Only Two in the High School-Medals Presented.

Belmont, June 27.-The Belmont High School entertainment last evening was well patronized. Prof. Munson was able to be in the hall for a few minutes to watch the proceedings. There were only two graduates, Mr. Percy Reagh Forbes, and Miss Ruby Rogers. Mr. Forbes delivered an oration on the Boer war, its cause and result. Miss Rogers did not expect to graduate, but received word at a late hour from the Regents that she had passed with credit that was highly complementary. The lower grade entertainment was fine and the school closed with glowing prospects for the year.

The medal given by Catherine Schuyler Chapter, D.A.R., for the best essay on American history was presented by Mrs. Hamilton Ward, Regent of the Chapter, to Miss Bessie Browning. The prize medal for the best scholarship was presented to Miss Georgia Gorton, by Miss Agnes Rogers the preceptress.
