Adelbert Sanford

Adelbert Sanford, resident of this village for the past 35 years, died Sunday evening at Bethesda Hospital in North Hornell where he was removed Saturday evening. He had previously been a patient at the Straight Nursing Home in Almond. He had been ill about three months.

He was born in the Town of Bums December 24, 1880, and was a well known farmer of this area. He was a member of the Almond Union of Churches, Almond Grange, served as mayor of Almond shortly after the village was incorporated, served as assessor in Town of Almond, and as Republican County committeeman for several years.

Surviving are three daughters, Miss Pauline Sanford at home. Mrs. Henry Benthin of Elba and Miss Vera Sanford at home; two grandchildren, Lois and Lynn Benthin; several nieces and nephews.

The body is at the Robertson Funeral Home in Main street Homell, where friends may

call and where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, in Almond.
