Obituary for Sylvia Bennett
Mrs. Edwin M. Bennett
Mrs. Sylvia Bennett, 76 of 34 East State St., died Thursday (Oct. 25, 1979) in Jones Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born July 11, 1903 in West Clarksville, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs LeBar. A lifelong resident of that area she was married to Harry W. Beckwith, who predeceased her in 1936. She later married Edwin M. Bennett, who predeceased her in 1959.
Mrs. Bennett had owned and operated the Bennett Apartments in Wellsville for several years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. William (Vivian) Jann of Bath; a son, Harrison J. Beckwith of Wellsville; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs Arzelia Gustafson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs Pearl Wakefield of Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the J.W. Embser Son Funeral Home, Wellsville, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Sunday (Oct. 28, 1979) at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany County Chapter of the American Heart Association.
