Rev. James Beck

DANSVILLE-- The Rev. James Beck, 82, former pastor of Methodist Churches in Allentown and Andover, died Monday (April 8, 1968) in Bathesda Community Hospital, North Hornell. His home was at 20 Elizabeth St., Dansville.

Born in England, the Rev. Mr. Beck moved to Canada where he was graduated from Albert College, Bellville, Ont. He started in the ministry as a Captain in the Salvation Army in Ontario, and later served in the Methodist mission field there.

The Rev. Mr. Beck came to the United States in 1925, and served in Western New York Methodist churches for 31 years.  He was pastor of the Allentown Methodist Church for many years, ad retired as pastor of the Andover Methodist Church in 1956. He and his wife, Lucinda MacBrien Beck observed their 55th wedding anniversary last Mrch 20.

In addition to his widow, the Rev. Mr. Beck is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Kleinhans of Lockport and Mrs. Lavinia Handee of Rochester; and five grandchildren.
friends may call at the Chamberlin Funeral Home, Dansville, where a funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday.  Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville.
