Russel C. Case

Loving husband, father and grandfather

Cuba -- Russel C. Case, of 8702 Cuba-Friendship Road, Cuba, died Tuesday (April 8, 2003) in the Wellsville Manor Care Center after a short illness.

Born in Cuba on April 9. 1931, he was a son of Alton D. and Sarah (Snyder) Case. On August 28, 1954, in Cuba, he married the former Minnie V. LaFever who survives. He was a life resident of Cuba and had been employed by Acme Electric Corp. in Cuba and Hinsdale for 49 1/2 years, retiring April 9, 1996.

Mr. Case served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 and received the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service and the Korean Service Medal with a Bronze Star. He earned the rank of sergeant. He enjoyed restoring antique cars, woodworking and dancing.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Dolores (Charles) Klein of Bliss and Jeannette (William) Sylor of Angelica, five grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Jacob Klein at home in Bliss, and Michelle and Amanda Sylor at home in Angelica, three brothers, DeAlton Case of Pulaski, PA., Burton (Gene) Case of Cuba, and Clinton (June) Case of Friendship, two sisters, Lorraine Butts and Donna F. Case both of West Clarksville, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the McIntosh Funeral Home (Nicholson Chapel) 24 Genesee Parkway, Cuba on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. The Reverend Leslie E. Chambers of the West Clarksville Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the West Clarksville Cemetery in the Town of Clarksville. Military services will be held in the funeral home at 7 p.m. Thursday.
