MRS. FLORENCE QUICK IS FATALLY INJURED IN NILES HILL ACCIDENT

Wellsville Woman Pinned Under Overturned Vehicle; Funeral on Monday

Mrs. Florence Estelle Quick, 58 of Wellsville RD 1 suffered fatal injuries about 3 o' clock yesterday afternoon when a car, in which she was riding turned over on the Niles Hill Road about four miles south of Wellsville.

Mrs. Quick was a passenger in the car driven by Mrs. Lael Ordway, 57, of Little Genesee Rd 1.

Cause of the accident was not immediately determined. The car was southbound at the time and wen to the east sid eof the road. It rolled up a steep bank and rolled over.

Mrs. Quick was thrown from the machine and landed in a ditch beside the high way with the car on top of her.

She was conscious for a considerable time as two wreckers were rushed to the scene to lift the overturned vehicle.

Shortly after being placed in the Embser ambulance, she became unconscious and died soon after being admitted to Jones Memorial  Hospital.

Mrs. Ordway escaped serious injury.

Mrs. Quick was born June 2, 1896 in Shinglehouse a daughter of Frank and Hanna Sponsler Terette, She had lived in Alma for 37 years.

She was married 37 years ago to George E. Quick who survives together with six daughters: Mrs Arthur Lewis, Little Genesee; Mrs Robert Conrelius, Wellsville SRS; Mrs Ralph Hardy, Wellsville SRB Mrs Wesley Childs, Bolivar RD1; Mrs Earl Schoonover, Wellsville; Mrs Carl Dickerson, Alm and one son Julius Quick, Alma RD1; four sisters; Mrs. William Warlow, Williamstown, Pa.; Mrs Kurt Brumage, Shinglehouse, Pa.; Mr. Burt Brizzee, Olean; Mrs. Wayne Taylor, Shinglehouse, Pa.; two brothers; Russell Bolton, Chicago; Henry Terette, Shinglehouse, Her mother-in-law Mrs Agnes Quick, Alma; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the late home on Alma Hill Monday afternoon at 3"o'clock. The Rev Frank B. Young of the Alma United Brethren Church will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
