FRIENDSHIP -- Catherine B. Richmond, 75, of 10 Maple Avenue, died Friday (April 18, 2003) following a lengthy illness. She was born August 19, 1927 in Mills, PA. a daughter of Charles and Beulah Congdon Clark. On February 10, 1946, in West Clarksville, she married Denzel Clyde Richmond, who died April 1, 1994.

Mrs. Richmond had resided in Obi until moving to Friendship in 1962. For several years she was a nurse's aid at Cuba Memorial Hospital. For short periods of time she was employed at Farnsworth Cookies in Cuba and Friendship Dairies in Friendship.

From 1946 to 1963 she was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church, from 1963 to 1981 she was a member of the Friendship Bible Baptist Church. From 1981 to 1983 she was a member of the Victory Bible Baptist Church in New York City and from 2001 until the present time she was a member of the Obi Community Church. For many years she taught Sunday School in the churches she attended, and she was also involved with children's ministries and nursing home ministries. With her husband, she conducted Bible studies throughout the years.

Surviving are three sons, David L. Richmond (Sandra Hallock) of Cuba, Loren J. (Kathleen) Richmond of Arvada, CO., and Denzel C. (Sheryl) Richmond Jr., of Blanche, NC., two daughters, Carol J. Outman of Friendship, and Cheryl K. (Timothy) Pepper of Oregon, OH., 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, James Clark and a grand daughter, Jennifer Richmond.

Friends my call at the Treusdell Funeral Home, 50 East Main Street, Friendship from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Obi Community Church with the Reverend David Wood, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.

Memorials may be made to Obi Community Church building fund and the East Denver Bible Baptist Church building fund.
