AN ENTERPRISE FOR WELLSVILLE

Mr. J. H. Francis, representing the NY & Pa Bell Telephone Company is in this city, for the purpose of interesting our citizens in the construction of a telephone line which will place Wellsville in telephonic communication with Hornellsville, Elmira, Binghamton, Ithaca, Bath, Corning, Williamsport and a large number of smaller towns in Southern New York and Northern Pennsylvania.   Should our citizens take an interest in having the projected line built, Wellsville will be placed as soon as it is constructed, in connection with the whole telephonic system. The advantages of having a personal interview with persons a hundred miles distant, and the cheap rates at which telephone messages are sent, are bringing the telephone into general use in the place of the telegraph.
