Born of Riley Allen and Melvina Prince Allen. Married on June 4, 1899, to Charles Boyd (died 1932), the son of Alexander M. Boyd and Della Moore Boyd. Married on July 22, 1933, to Frederick J. Boyd, son of Alexander M. Boyd and Della Moore Boyd. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd have three daughters: Dorothy Boyd, graduated from Alfred University with the degree A. B., Class of 1924 (now Mrs. a Adolph Vossler, S. R. S., Wellsville, N. Y.) ; Hilda Boyd, graduated from Alfred University with the degree A. B., Class of 1925 (now Mrs. D. Wellman Dailey, Wellsville); and Virginia Boyd, graduated from Genesee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima, N. Y., Class of 1933, also attended Alfred University and the Westbrook Commercial Academy, Olean, N. Y., now employed by the First Trust Co. of Wellsville.

Mrs. Boyd was educated in the Grade School at Allentown and was graduated from the Genesee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima, Class of 1894.  She is a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Allentown, Catherine Schuyler Chapter, D. A. R.; Burton Chapter 129, O. E. S., Wellsville; and the New York State Oil Producers' Association. She is engaged in the production of oil in the Allegany field.  Her father, Riley Allen, was a pioneer in the production of oil in the Allegany field and was one of the original group who drilled the Richburg well. His oil interests also extended to the oil fields of Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Texas and he was also engaged in farming several farms, dairying, and the manufacture of cheese. It was Riley Allen who in 1881 laid out and plotted the Village of Allentown, which bears his name. The Allen homestead is now the home of Mrs. Boyd.  Mrs. Boyd's maternal ancestors came to Massachusetts from England and later located in Potter County, Pa.  --September- 8, 1937.
