Place, William

William O. Place, carpenter and joiner, a native of Milton, Rock county, Wisconsin, was born in 1840, and came with his parents in 1845 to Alfred. He served three years in Company H, 1st NY Dragoons during the Rebellion, and participated in the battles of Suffolk, Deserted Farm and in other engagements. In 1866 he was married to Miss De Ette Bardwin, of Brookfield, Madison county, NY. She is a member of the Seventh-Day Baptist Church.
