Willis, Nathan J.

Nathan J. Willis, manufacturer of boots and shoes, a native of Windsor, VT., was born in 1843, and came to Alfred in 1876 from Jacksonville, Ill.  He enlisted in 1861 and served two years in Bates battery, 1st NY light artillery, and in 1864 enlisted a second time, in the 15th NY heavy artillery.  He was wounded at Spottsylvania, and lost his left leg below the knee.
