On Monday morning the wife of Dr. J. Baxter, of the Music University, died after a most painful and lingering disease. She had long been under medical treatment for that dreaded and terrible disease, cancer, and death to her must long since have lost its terrors so great has been her suffering. Mrs. Baxter nee Harriet Davis was a sister of M. Davis and M. S. Davis, the well-known merchants of Belmont and Scio. The funeral took place this morning, the remains being taken to Scio for interment.
