Rites held yesterday for Richard E. Holmes

Obi – October 14 – Richard Earl Holmes, aged 26 years of Olean, formerly of Obi, died at the St. Francis Hospital in Olean on Monday, October 12 at 12:40 o’clock. He had been in ill health for several years.
Besides his wife, Christine Holley Holmes of Olean, he leaves one son, Thomas Earl of Obi, his mother, Mrs. Emily Brennan of Olean and two aunts, Mrs. Lloyd Murray of West Clarksville and Mrs. Fred Whitney of Obi. He was born at Cuba, July 14, 1916
The body was brought to Obi to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Fred Whitney where the funeral was held on Wednesday with prayer at the house at 2:00 o’clock and services at the local church at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. L. M. Casler officiated. Interment was in the West Clarksville Cemetery.
The pallbearers were: Laverne Whitney, James Murray, Earl Murray, Francis Murray, Lovell Moore and Kenneth Holley.
