Father of Derrick City Residents dies.
Jess Withey Was Retired Oil Man
Jesse A. Withey, 83, of Belmont, NY, father of two Derrick City residents died Saturday morning at 5 o'clock at his home. He had been in ill health for the past year.
Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Maitland of Derrick City and Mrs. Ina Burdick of Belmont: three sons, Harry J. Withey of Derrick City, Howard A. Withey of Bronxville, NY and Charles D. Withey of Bronx, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock today at the home in Belmont. Burial will be in the family lot in the Bolivar, Ny cemetery.
Mr. Withey had been a resident of Belmont for the past five years, moving to that community from Wellsville. For many years he made his residence in Haymaker, near Eldred and was a well-known oil producer. He retired several years ago.
