Wesche, Agnes V. Mowers

Agnes V. Wesche, 85, formerly of Belmont and Allen, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday (Nov. 18, 2011) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
Born in Bellville, March 9, 1926, the daughter of Lynn and Lila (Schoonover) Mowers, she was a lifelong area resident. On Nov. 19, 1950, she married Walter A. Wesche, who survives. Agnes was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Basswood Hill), where she had taught Sunday school, and also participated in the Ladies Aid. In years past, she had been on the Election Board of Allen, participated in Home Bureau, was chairman of the local American Cancer Society and while living in the Belmont area participated in a weekly home Bible study group. Agnes enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Helen Cole and Nancy Dickens; a brother, Larry Mowers; a niece, Brenda Cole; and a nephew, Michael Cole.
She is survived by her husband, Walter A. Wesche, lacking one day of their 61st Anniversary; two daughters, Elaine (Michael) O’Leary of Ogden, and Betty (Douglas) Nichols of Farmersville; a son, David (Candace) Wesche of Allen; a sister, Joyce Gildner of Florida; nine grandchildren, Sheena (Aaron O’Leary-Colburn, Bruce Nichols, Tiffany (Scott) Lambert, Allen Nichols, Casey (Liz Lain) Wesche, Shannon, Shawn, Justin and April Wesche; and 17 nieces and nephews.
The family will be present from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 23, 2011) at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Basswood Hill), where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Hoyt officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hills Cemetery, Belmont.
