Oleans Times Herald -- HERBERT WESLEY JORDAN
Friendship - Herbert Wesley Jordan, 79, of 13 South Branch Street, died Thursday, June 17, 1993, following a lengthy illness.
Born Jan 15, 1914 in town of Clarksville, he was son of Cassius Michael and Ida Lucretia Kingsbury Jordan.  On Jan 26, 1935 in Cuba, he married former Thelma Avis Terwilliger who survives.
Mr. Jordan had resided most of his life in Friendship and had attended the Bartoo school No. 4 in town of Clarksville.  For many years he was an oil driller in Southern Tier district and in 1956 he became a truck driver for the New York State DOT in Friendship retiring in 1979.
Mr. Jordan was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Charles Herbert Jordan of San Pedro, Calif; a daughter, Mrs. John (Ruth J.) Thoden, Jr. of Boonville, NY; five grandchildren, three great grandchildfen; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Lillian Leehe of Olean; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by six brothers, Glenn Garfield Jordan, John Dewey Jordan, Jesse James Jordan, Theodore F. Jordan, Guy Clifford Jordan and Lee Cassius Jordan and three sisters, Miss Rose M. Jordan, Mrs. Myra J. Gardner and Mrs. Hazel R. Potter.
Friends may call at Treusdell Funeral Home in Friendship 7-9 today and fromm 2-4 and 7-9 Saturday where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  The Rev. Lynn Ostrander of Bradford, PA will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Friendship.
