Leon H. Roeske
Leon H. Roeske, 86, of 4982 Route 19 South, died Tuesday (May 6, 2003) at Jones Memorial Hospital.
He was born August 1, 1916 in Wellsville, a son of Otto Roeske and Adeline (Heinke) Roeske. On June 28, 1941, in Friendship, he was married to Olga Mohar who survives.
He attended Wellsville High School. He was employed as a Maintenance Superintendent at Moore Steam Turbine and then Dresser Rand from 1934 to 1978. He was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Belmont.
Surviving, including his wife, are two sons, David Roeske of Modesto, CA., Thomas (Sandy) Roeske of Vancouver, WA., two daughters, Judy DeMarte of Wellsville and Patricia (Bruce) Townsend of Belmont, 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, a brother, Ebert Roeske of Belmont and a sister, Anita Harrell of Allentown, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Otto and Eli Roeske and two sisters, Clara Kalota and Margaret Dunn.
There will be no prior visitation.
Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Friday (May 9, 2003) at the St. Mary's Church in Belmont with the Reverend Dennis Mancuso officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home in Belmont. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Belmont.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church.
