F. NINA TORREY
Loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great-grandmother
CERES -- F. Nina Torrey, 91, of Ceres, died Sunday (May 11, 2003) in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility following a long illness.
Born January 22, 1912, in Little Genesee, she was a daughter of the late Archie L. and Sadie Mascho Loucks. On May 1, 1927, in Little Genesee, she married Adrian Bruce Torrey, who died Dec. 24, 1989.
Mrs. Torrey was employed by Alca Corp. in Olean until her retirement.
She was a member of the Ceres United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star in Bolivar.
She enjoyed crocheting, decorating cakes, bowling and her family.
Surviving are four sons, Adrian L. (Ethelruth) Torrey of Olean, E. Bruce (Lea) Torrey and Wayne L. (Thelma) Torrey both of Zephyrhills, FL., and Timothy D. (Dorothy) Torrey of Barboursville, VA., a daughter Jerrie L. LaFever of Bolivar, 20 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Cornelius (Irene) Loucks of Ceres and Arnold L. (Maxine) Loucks of Theodore, AL., three sisters, Etta White of Niagara Falls, Constance Leverett of Shinglehouse, PA. and Maritta Williams of Cheektowaga and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley J. Blakeslee and two sisters, Beulah Fuller and Viola Taylor.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1803 E. State Street, Olean where funeral services will be held Thursday (May 15, 2003) at 11:30 a.m. The Reverend Ronald Libengood, pastor of the Ceres United Methodist Church and David Torrey will officiate. Burial will be in Bowler Memorial Cemetery, Little Genesee.
In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be made to the Ceres United Methodist Church.
